SGVP International School is all set to present their Carnival-“ShrishtiSarjan – Power of five elements of Life”. The carnival is scheduled to be held on 10th, 11th & 12th of January, 2012 from 9.00 am to 2.00 pm at SGVP school campus. The students and teachers have been working on it since November, 2011.
SGVP family is known for its tremendous positive energy, be it study, sports, spirituality or cultural events. After the roaring success of their last year’s carnival ‘Incredible India’, the students and teachers are at the height of their enthusiasm now. Regular classes are going on, in addition to that they are making charts, preparing models, practicing skits, singing, dancing… the list is really long. SGVP is going to showcase 15 exhibition halls depicting the theme. They have prepared an hour long cultural programme as well.
But why this theme? Principal Caesar D’silva said “According to the ancient Indian knowledge, the Five Elements are the building blocks of the universe. They encompass all that is needed to survive in this Creation. Without any one of them, the universe would cease to exist. The Five Elements are basic, but the knowledge surrounding them runs deep. It is our job as humans to balance our individual elements and those of the universe.”
D’silva added, “When the elements are out of balance, disease, stress, violence, depression, lack of clarity and unhappiness occur. There are ways to balance the elements in ourselves which we will demonstrate during the carnival as we take a look at the specific qualities of each. “
All 1000 students of the school, right from Junior KG to Class XII are participating in the carnival. They say that the values of SGVP are based on Study, Sports and Spirituality. This clear sense of spirituality drove them to select the theme this year. A member of the Carnival Volunteer Committee Akash Purohit of Class VIII said, “The Carnival will take us for a two-hour roller coaster ride to understand our deep relationship with the five elements and we will learn to live in harmony with ourselves”.
This statement came from a 12 year old. It seems SGVP is on the right path. Isn’t it?
